I did Nazi that coming
Day one and we already have Nazi salutes
Color me shocked. The oath of office was still ringing in everyone’s ears. Guest speaker (and co-president) Elon Musk takes the stage. In the span of about three minutes Elon delivered the Nazi salute twice.
His hand went to his heart and then out as seen in the photo. This wasn’t a mistaken gesture or Freudian slip. He wasn’t waving. He delivered his salute as crisply as a Nazi standing before the Führer himself.
We were warned, many times. Generals John Kelly, Mark Milley, James Mattis, H.R. McMaster and others warned us, calling Trump a fascist unfit for office, an authoritarian, immoral, and beyond the pale of American norms.
Then there’s the executive orders Trump signed today, because fascism has a schedule to keep. They include, but are not limited to:
Withdrawing the US from the World Health Organization
Pardons for all of the terrorists from the January 6th attack on the US Capitol
An order to keep TikTok alive for now (funny since he started the move to ban it in the first place)
Freeze Biden’s action to lift Cuba’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism
Ordering federal employees back in office 5 days a week
Ordering a federal hiring freeze
Completely rescinding Title IX order protecting against discrimination for gender identity or sexual orientation
Order to restore deportation criteria from his 2017 nightmare immigration policy that led to countless families being separated, some never to see their children again
Order to direct the attorney general to assist states in acquiring lethal injection drugs
Strap in, folks. This presidency is going to be a long ride.
